Meet the St. Charles County Master Gardeners

What started 26 years ago with a vision for a small perennial flagpole garden has grown into one of Missouri's largest Master Gardener chapters.

Our members come from every kind of gardening background - from hobbyists to professionals, beginners to experienced gardeners, and young adults to senior citizens.  What brings us together is a shared love of gardening, learning, and sharing what we've learned with others.

As University of Missouri Extension Master Gardeners, we're training to provide research-based answers to gardening questions and we're passionate about helping gardeners throughout St. Charles County grow with confidence.

Explore Our Chapter Gardens & Programs

Our passion for sharing inspired us to create 20 demonstration gardens at the St. Charles County Extension Center.  These living classrooms showcase native, perennial, and annual plantings, giving visitors the opportunity to discover plants that thrive in St. Charles County while learning research-based gardening techniques they can use at home.  From vegetable gardens and native planting to gardens designed to attract birds, butterflies, and other pollinators, there's inspiration for every gardener.

Education extends beyond our demonstration gardens.  Throughout the year, we connect with gardeners through educational plant sales, gardening classes our Speakers Bureau, farmers markets, garden tours, the Extension Hotline, and our popular Eating What We Grow cooking classes.

Our Pantry Garden reflects another important part of our mission.  Each year, we grow and donate more than 2,000 pounds of fresh vegetables to local food pantries, demonstrating how gardens can nourish both people and communities.

Whether we're teaching a class, answering a gardening question, or introducing someone to a new favorite plant, we're passionate about helping other learn to grow.

Spend the Day Growing With Us

Come for outstanding speakers and practical gardening education. Stay for the conversations, the ideas, and the opportunity to spend the day with gardeners who love learning as much as they love growing.

Sharing our knowledge and favorite plants is what we do best!
