Meet the Macon-Shelby Master Gardeners

Celebrating 26 years as a chapter, the Macon-Shelby Master Gardeners are a welcoming group who believe the best gardens - and the best friendships - grow when people come together.

Our members enjoy sharing plants, stories, ideas, and encouragement with gardeners of all experience levels. Through education, volunteer service, and community projects, we bring the Master Gardener mission to life throughout Macon and the surrounding area.

​

Their work includes caring for the beautiful Mela Linn Healing Gardens at Samaritan Hospital, maintaining gardens at the Macon Post Office, and supporting other community spaces that bring beauty and inspiration to local residents.

A Day of Learning, Sharing, and Fun

This Watch Party is about more than watching conference sessions - it's about connecting with the gardening community.

​

One of our favorite traditions is celebrating each other.  Throughout the day, Master Gardener chapters from across the region are invited to share favorite projects and accomplishments, recognize Master Gardener emeriti and trainees, and celebrate the people who make our gardening community so special. 

 

Expect warm welcomes, new connections, plenty of applause, and maybe even a little friendly competition.

Make it a Day in Macon

Known as the "City of Maples," Macon offers small-town charm, local history, unique shopes and beautiful outdoor spaces.  

​

Extend your visit after the conference with a drive through Long Branch State Park, browse local antique shops, stop by Ben Franklin for fabrics and gifts, or treat yourself to dinner at AJ's, known for its famous onion rings.
