Join the Heart of Missouri Master Gardeners in the beautiful new Jefferson Farm & Garden Learning Center for a day of learning, connection, and gardening inspiration in the heart of Missouri.

We'll gather in the new Learning Center, a beautiful facility designed for education and community, surrounded by demonstration gardens, native landscapes, and the working gardens that make Jefferson Farm one of Missouri's premier horticultural destinations.

Meet the Heart of Missouri Master Gardeners

The Heart of Missouri Master Gardeners are passionate educators, community volunteers, and gardening ambassadors dedicated to helping others learn to grow. 

​

Working alongside the University of Missouri Extension, we enjoy sharing our love of gardening through demonstration gardens, educational programs, community outreach, and hands-on learning opportunities that inspire gardeners of every experience level. ​

​

Our work includes maintaining the All-America Selections Display Garden, Butterfly House and Pollinator Cafe, Wildflower Meadow, Boone County Extension Garden, and Mu Children's Learning Garden.  We also host community events such as the annual Butterfly Festival and provide gardening education that reaches thousands of Missouri gardeners each year.

Completed in 2026, the Jefferson Farm & Garden Learning Center welcomes visitors to Jefferson Farm & Garden, one of Missouri's premier destinations for gardening education, research, and inspiration. 

Be sure to explore the beautiful demonstration gardens, native landscapes, and outdoor learning spaces surrounding the new Learning Center.  Every season offers something new to discover, from pollinator-friendly plantings and sustainable gardening ideas to practical inspiration you can take home to your own landscape.

Experience Columbia During Homecoming

As an added bonus, your visit coincides with Mizzou Homecoming!  Columbia is proud to be the birthplace of Homecoming, a tradition that began at the University of Missouri in 1911.  If your schedule allows, take time to enjoy the festive atmosphere around campus and see the famous Homecoming House Decorations, one of Mizzou's most cherished traditions.
